CHURCH OF ENGLAND MEN'S SOCIETY.
THE LONDON CONFERENCE. The work of organising tho annual conl'crcnco of the Church' of England Men's Society in London on Octobcr 25 and 2(3 is making satisfactory progress. It lias been (leaded to recommend that tho . conference should b'o extended to two days, and tho following woro tlio provisional arrangements October '25, afternoon, opening session of tho conference at the Church House. Outoii.ir 26, celebration of tlio Holy Communion at St. Paul's Cathedral; morning and afternoon' sessions of the conference..; evening service;-annual meeting in the. Albert Hall. The Holy Communion oil tho morning of October 27 will close the conference proceedings. The above suggestions were brought before tlio various-federations by their secretaries, and a mooting of tho General Committee was hold. Reports vero given by the federation secretaries, and it- was at onco cvident'that tho Churchmen of Greater London woro ready to undertake ■ the whole responsibility of welcoming and entertaining tho delegates, rather than that any public appeal for subscriptions should bo made. The following sub-committees were formed:—Finance: Chairman, tho Bishop of Kingston; Hospitality: The Bishop of Barking; Guido Book and Service: Chairman, the. Bishoy of Croydon ; and also special committees to deal with tho question of stewards mid mr-als. It is expected that fully 1000 delegates will havo to be provided for, and they will represent not only England, Scotland, and Ireland, but also the Army and Merchant Service, and branches in Australia, Africa, India, New Zealand, and other countries.
