EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS.

Cardinal Aguirre, Archbishop of Toledo, and Primate of Spain, has sent a striking letter of invitation to tho Spanish Bishops to tako part in the International ljucharistic Congress which is to ho held in the month of Juno at Madrid. His Eminence begins by pointing out how great an honour has been done to tho country by being chosen as the gathering-place of the Congress, nil honour which Spaniards should accept by showing that thoy are worthy of it. The Holy Lather will be represented by a member of tho Saercd College, and illustrious prelates will honour the celebrations with their presence. The Royal family will give their support, and the head of the Government has offered his co-operation and concurrence. It is therefore tit-ting that tho Bishops of spam and their flocks should figure in the procession, and that the zeal of tho people should be aroused in order to add to the snlendour of the gathering. "Here,"-proceeds the Cardinal, "is an excellent opportunity for ; Catholics to gather together before the Blessed Sacrament, laying aside at the threshold of 11 is august dwelling everything that could lie a causa of strife and discord. All thus united in the same love for tlie Sacrcd Host- offered for love of us, as we are all already united ill the same faith and hope and regenerated in the same baptismal waters, it will be easy for us to love one another sincerely, imposing a truce upon all other thoughts and forgetting any imagined injuries in order that there may be a serried phalanx which shall go forth under its national chief to meet the enemies of Holy Church which is so beloved and revered bv all of us. Now more than over the Church lias need of tho loyal concurrence, disinterested service, and, obedience of all her children." — "The T-blet."
