THE LATE MR. G. C. WHEELER.

A DIOCESAN TRIBUTE. Referring, at the special session of tho Anglican Diocesan Synod yesterday, to the death of Mr. G. C. Wheeler, Archdeacon Fancourt said"Wo all ■ deplore the death of Mr. G. C. Wheeler, one of our most prominent t»nd useful members, a faithful Christian man and a devout churchman. We hold his name in. reverent memory, and pray that we inay follow tho example of lifo that ho has so consistently set before our eyes." .On the motion df Mr. W. J. Birch, who remarked that Mr. Wheeler had unsparingly devoted his time and. abilities to the benefit of the Church, ' the Srnod passed, in respectful silence, tho' follow, ing motion:—"That this Synod desires to express its deep sorrow at the death of Mr. G. C. Wheeler, whoso services to this Synod, and in all Church, work, wero so valued. His loss will be keenly felt by us all.' We also desire to extend to Mrs. Wheeler our sincere sympathy." Mr. W. F. Jacob?, in seconding the motion, stated that he had been associated with the late Mr. Whoeler for more than twenty-five years, and spoke with deep feeling of his groat value as a churchman, his dauntless courage, and absolute straightforwardness.
