IN PLACE OF THE MARAROA.
RUMOUR OF A NEW TURBINE. On inquiry being made concerning a current report that tho Union Company were about to placc an order for a new turbine steamer to replaco tho Mararoa in tho Wellington-L.vttelton ferry service, Mr. W. A. Kennedy, the local manager for tho company, was unalilo to confirm Iho statement. It is stated, however, that tho new vessel is to be larger than tho Maori, and also two knots faster.
