BOXING.
■ THE LOCAL TOURNAMENT. On Friday next at the Opera House the Wellingtci, Boxing Association has arranged for an important boxing tournament, with the idea of adding to tho funds being raised for representation at the Empire Festival in London. Burns and Lecicie, two well-known professionals, are to meet in a fifteen-round contest, while tho first half of the programme will be occupied with four amateur bouts of five rounds between leading amateurs. The box plan will be open at Armit's this morning.
