CHRISTCHURCH ITEMS.
(By Telegraph-Press Association.) Christchurch, March G. A. deputation of twenty-four ladies was introduced by Mr. Taylor, Jl.l\, to tlio City Council to-night and asked that (separate baths be provided for women. Mr. Taylor slated that 1575 women and girls used the existing tepid baths during the eighteen hours weekly they were available to them. Jlr. George Harris presented a petition signed by between 400 and 500 women asking for separate baths and stated that tlio present accommodation at tlio baths was totally inadequate. Tlio Mavor stated that the council was favourably disposed to the extension of the present'baths. The matter was referred to the Baths Committee to report on. The City Council to-night decided to offer .fiSdOO for the purchase of Lancaster Park which had been offered to tlio council for .£IO,OOO, and the Finance Committee was empower to negotiate with the comnaaji
