Some excitement was caused by the appearance of two society women dressed in harem skirls among the audience .at the Opera House. 'Die autlienco shouted: "Our women shall not wear trousers!" The women tried to hide, hut other women forcibly held them in full view of the audience for- half an hour, preventing the performance from proceeding.
