WADESTOWN PARISH.

NEW ANGLICAN VICAR,

At St. Luke's Church, Wadestown, yesterday morning, the Rev. J. G. S. Bartlett was licensed in public to the charge of tho parish of Wadestown and Northland, by the Anglican Bishop of Welling-, ton (Dr. Wallis). After morning prayer, the service of institution was read by the Bishop, who also preached to a- large congregation. A considerable number of those present stayed to the Holy Communion: Mr. Bartlett preached at St. Mark's, Northland, in the evening. The new incumbent of Wadestown and Northland was ordained in IS9S by the Bishop of Salisbury, England, for work in this diocese. He served us curate, first at AVanganui, then at St. Paul's Wellington, and afterwards for several years at St. Mark's, Wellington. He then became vicar of Oaiuaru, a position which he held until he returned to Wellington to take up his present charge.
