'•flic opponents of reciprocity assert that tlio drawback to tlio tariff agreement will bo its adverse influence on Canada's trade'relations with Australia and New Zealand, both of which countries have granted preference. By virtue of her reciprocity agreement with tlio United States Canada will bo unable to mako a trade bargain with either Australia or New Zealand. Parliament will probably sit until June. The members of tlio Liberal party who aro rebelling against the agreement advise Sir "Wilfrid Laurier not to proceed with reciprocity, but instead to adopt a policy of Free-trade within tlio Empire. EXTRA SESSION OF CONGRESS. DEMOCRATS OPTIMISTIC. (Rec. March 3, 11.55 p.m.) Washington, March .3. The extra session of Congress, to bo called by tlio President to deal with the reciprocity agreement, will probably last till July. Tlio agreement with Canada, according to Democratic opinion, is certain to pass 'during the extra session.
