>4 . CRICKET. THE WEDNESDAY GAMES. FIRST ROUND CONCLUDED, The final series of gomes in the first round was concluded yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect, and tho wickets were in 'first-class' order. 'Artillery- defeated Vivian by eight wickets' and 4 runs. Carson and' Cording were tho onlv batsmen to mako any stand in Vivian's second innings. Doug>s (Artillery) put together 31 by fine, free hitting. In the second innings Blamires made 31 not out, ami plnyed ft fine, steady game, while Weybourne also put together 30 by steadv nlay. Rivals defeated Post and Telegraph by 42 runs. The' Post and Telegraph men had only nine players, present .in each innings. Their fielding was very poor, while Rivals all round showed much improved form, taking every, chance.
