GROCERS' PICNIC.
The annual picnic of ,tho ' Wellington Grocers' Union was held at Belmont yesterday. About 300 adults and 150 children made tho journey and all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The various sports and races wcro keenly contested and successfully managed. The management of tho outiug was in tho hands of tho'following committee:—Mr. W. Wakclin (president), J. M'Kewon (vice-president), 0. G. .Carev (secretary), and Messrs. Evans, Ford, Cullen, Bowling, llnyes, Sharp, Kennedy. Jlr. J. Kennedy acted as starter and handicapper. The results of tho various events were:—Boys' Racc: It. Cording, 1; L. Rule, 2. Apprentices' Race: J. Johnson, 1; W. AVarren, 2. Girls' Race: Doris Handcocks, 1; E. M'Donnell, 2. Married Women's Race (No. 1): Mrs. Weiine. 1; Mrs. Harris, 2. Single Ladies' Race: Miss Parker, 1; Miss Hogg, 2. Married Grocers' Race; J. Blair, 1; J. Sliarpe, 2. Visitors' Race: W Bates, 1; W. Toonor, 2. Commercial Travellers' Race: J. Barton, 1; S. Hull, 2. Committee Race: W. Wakolin, 1; r| Hayes, 2. Master Grocers' Race: J* M'ilwraith, 1! — Mouat. 2.
