Fogwell has signed articles for a , race with' Whelch at Akaroa on Easter Monday; Fogwell receives .£SO and his expenses in the event of losing. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, February 22. ■ Mr. G. Daly, of Akaroa;' received a cable messago this afternoon from Mr. Andrews, editor of the Sydney "Sun," stating that Fogwell has signed tho articles forwarded by Whelch, and will leavo for Akaroa immediately tho Parramatta, Handicap is over, : PARRAMATTA HANDICAP. ANOTHER DOMINION MAN. Win. Luwson, tho Nelson sculler, who made such a i creditable showing at the Foxton Handicap in 1909, arrived from Nelson on Tuesday evening, and- is going on to Sydney on Friday to compete in the big Farramatta Handicap of next month. So far tho handicaps have not vet been announced, but ■ Mr. Lawson hopes to receive .a fair. start, in which caso ho does not think that lie will be very far out. Ho is being accommodated with a boat by "Dick" Anist, championsculler of tho world, and will have a good three weeks' training on the Parramattn to get used to it. During the few, days which ho is spending in Wellington the Star Boating Club is affording him every facility for training. Lawson now tip's the scale at 12st. 61b., and looks hard and lusty on it. Tho handicap is to l:o rowed in two heats and a final—the heats on 'March 18, and tho, final n week later. The first thrco home in each heat will qualify; for the final.
