Commission tho President of the Teachers'' Union stated that between eight and ten thousand fewer scholars wcro attending the public schools of the State' than ten years ago. This was.due to the fact that fewer now remained at School after they had reached twelve years of age, as ' they were wanted to earn money to assist iu keeping their homes.
