Dr. Findlay en route_ to Wellington, the Hon. D..Buddo in Westland, the Hon. T. Mackenzie in the_ Auckland district, the Hon. E. M'Kenrie in Wellington. and the Hon. A. T. Ngata in Wellington. The Hon. Dr. Findlay is expected- to return to Wellington from Auckland tonight. Mr. J. Colvin, M.F., is visiting . Wellington. Mr. J. Duncan, M.P., was a passenger to Wellington from Fictori by tho Arahura last evening. It is understood that Mr. T. S. Ronaldson. Inspector for the Public Trusteo Department, will be appointed Deputy Pnblis Trustee, as successor to the late Mr. A. A. K. Duncan. Mr. Justice Chapman returned to Wellington sby tho Arahura last evening. The Hon. (I. Fowlds leaves for Christchurch to-night'. He will return to Wellington on Sunday next. Mr. and Mrs. Greenslade, of '''ape Town, are at present on a tour of the Noith Island. . Mr. Robert Fletcher, chairman cl the Wellington Harbour Board, left for Auckland yesterday to attend a Masonic function. ... At the recent Edinburgh University examinations, Charles C. lies, second son of Mr. Walter lies, of Gisborne, passed the finiil examination for degrees in surgery and medicine. He intends proceeding to England to study for degrees in tropical 'medicine and public health. Mr. J. Nelson, of Neison,- Moate and Co., yesterday returned from a long visit to the East, "where ho has been completing his training in the tea business. It is the intention of Mr. Ernest Parkes, one of the finest baritones iu New Zealand, to prqeeed next month to Auckland in order Hint lie may continuo his studies under Mr. Spencer Lorraine, who intends to take up his residence ill the northern city, for at least twelve months to come. Mr. Lorraine is very keen on Mr. Parkes being-afforded the opportunity of singing at Home, and to that, end it is not improbable that an appeal' will !be made to the talented singer's many friends and admirers within a few weeks. Only a few days ago Mr. Parkes: sang before Mr. Harris, the head of a large English and American publishing house, who pronounced him the finest baritone he had. heard for years.
Mr. Bartolo Rnsso, formerly of Rona Bay, 'is at present on a visit to Wellington. Mr. liusso is now the owner of a dairy farm at Rotoraugi, near Cambridge, and is milking 35 cows a day. Next season ho will milk 50 cows, and hopes to increase his herd each year.' He regards his prospects as excellent,' and speaks hopefully of the development of the district in which he has made his home. He is not the only Wellingtonian who has taken up land in that quarter. Quite near his place Mr. Lindsayj brother of Mr. Alfred Lindsay, boot and shoe merchant, and for many years connected with the Lambton Quay business, has a dairy farm which promises good results. The Rev. A. 11. Colvile, who has been in charge of All Saints' narish, Auckland, for the past month, during the absence of Archdeacon CaJder-(who has been on a visit to country districts in connection with his duties as commissary), leaves for Foilding next week to conduct a mission there commencing on March 5. Mr. W. Short, judge of the'recent band contest, loaves Palmerston on Friday (says our Palmerston correspondent) on his return to England. He will join the Orsova, which sails from Sydney on March, 1. Mrs. W. Gardiner has presented a .barometer set in a solid rosewood case to tho Engineers' Institute, in memory of her late husband, formerly of Port Chnlmors. •

The King of Tonga and Prince Tungi arrived in Auckland from the Islands by the Tofna yesterday. His Majesty <;x----liects to spend some time in New Zealand.
