,■■■ . .♦- —:,■'■'■ ANNUAL" MEETING; ' T' '. The annual meeting of the Wellington Commercial Travellers' Association was held last evening, Mr. H. G. Tcwsley presiding. ' . The statement of accounts showed that the surplus amounted to ,£9,998 155., mado np as follows:—General account, .£8197 2s. 10d.; , relief fund, .£1356 35.; mortuary benefit fund, &13 9s. 2d. The report made reference to the regret felt tot tho death during the yeaT of Messrs- A. H.'F. Thomson,' F. G. Eoaeh, J. Horrax, and-J. H. Boss. • In"last report the hope had been expressed that the United- C. T. and AY Association of New Zealand having been established, the Dunedin brethren would, at their annual meeting, fall in and complete the chain, but, under date January 12, 1910, they reported that at. the annual general meeting on the Bth tho'resolution carried at a previous general meeting had been reaffirmed in its entirety. The Duthio Cup tournament for 1910 had reached the final, stage,' but owing to the absence of one of tho competitors could not bo finished by November 30. The name of the winner for 1909 (Mr. Jos. D. .Marks) had been' engraved on 'the cup.
Ths report. • and balance-sheet were adopted; Regret was expressed at the action of Dunedin in not falling into line with Wellington in regard to the federation scheme. Duuedin's action was explained by the fact that they, w.crc united with Australia, and would not draw out.
