ANNUAL CONFERENCE, (By Telegraph-Press Assoctatlon.l ,- ' Duncdln, February 10. . Tho Congregational Union Confcrcnco was continued to-day. In tho matter of the report of the Pastors' Provident Fund Board on the suggested alteration to tho rules, it was intimated that Mr. W. H. Lyon and Mr. Fowlds wcro unahlo to uttend. It was resolved to comraunicato with Mr. Lyon, informing him that tho council would deal with Rule 5, but would defer consideration until next conference. Tho proposed alteration to Rule 5, if put into effect, would admit of tho board receiving nil tho ministers at present working in New Zealand Congregational Churches as beneficiary members, but will not open the door to aged ministers subsequently arriving in tho Dominion. An interesting paper on the function of the Church was read by the Rev. I. Sarginson. The discussion of an amalgamation question was resumed and eventually tho matter was made a remit for consideration at the next meeting. In tho evening a young pcoplo's service was held.
