Maclean, auctioneer,' who was drowned in the Waipoua River, a verdict of death from misadventure was returned. Tho remains of deceased were taken this afternoon to Duncdin, whero the funeral will take place. Tho niatel/ for the Booth Cup trpphy was played this afternoon between teams representing Masterton .mid Carterton Bowling Clubs, and resulted.in n win for Masterton by 79 points to 39. Masterton and Carterton now tio for the trophy, and Masterton has to plav Greytown, while Carterton meets Featliorstoii. The ■position is very interesting to bowlers. Two members of the Auckland A. and P. Association will visit Masterton tomorrow to inspect the local show grounds. It is stated that neglect of Native lands 111 this district, which are overrun with rabbits, has been contribntcd to by Natives attending tangis, and thus leaving their homes for days at a time. *
