The Education Board has institute! a new office of a very interesting nature, ' and henceforward will include in • its executive staff an organising inspector, iroin a large number of-applications lor: the position, the board has selected Mr. Maurice Priestly, at present of the Auckland Iraining College, as first holder of" the position. There are among the oo'iui--' try schools a number of teachers who trom lack of experience and opportunity need guidance and, assistance, and the ' - organising inspector is r to supply that- ' guidance and assistance. The. board.de-. : - cided to appoint an officer at a salary of .£350, and actual travelling expenses. .'; • In. discussing the matter at, to-day's'-'-, meeting, tho chairman (Mr. C. '.T.
