Oats arc still a scarce commodity on tho market, and samples for sale are seldom seen. The market for barley is weaker, and as the maltsters arc now not operating it is difficult to ascertain what arc the values. At present, inferior barley Is practically unsaleable. There is a strong demand for partridge peas for this month's shipment, andsale3 aro readily made at 3s. 7d. to 3s. 9d., and even higher offers arc said to have been .made. „ ■ '' , There i.« not much business being doiie in town in cocksfoot, most of tho; sales that have taken place on the Peninsula being to . speculators. and outside, buyers.
