The following item is supplied by the Commonwealth cable service:—Homestead entries in Western Canada last year numbered 48,000. Tho population settled was 110,008, including IG,OOO Canadians, 11,000 Americans, 6500 1400 Scotch, and 500 Irish. The immigrants during the year comprised thirty-five nationalities.
