At Roekhaiupton,. all the. wharves and portions of the town nro inundated. ,The water in jomo of the' streets is feet deep. At Gladstone tho lowii reservoir burst. Railway traffic beyond the flooded areas has been suspended. ' Tho latest reports aro that the rain is clearing and tho flood waters commencing to rccedc. HOUSES AND BUSINESS PLACES FLOODED. EXCITING RESCUES. Melbourne, February 6. There was; a scvcro storm in tho city last evening, an inch and a half of rain falling in an hour. Tho streets wero foaming torrents, and much damage was done, tho water flooding houses and warehouses in tho city and round Collingwood, Malvern, Armadale,. and Toorak. The water was feet deep in many of tho houses. Thero were some exciting rescues.
