(From On? Special Correspondent.)' Captain Slinn presided at last night's meeting of the Butt Fire Brigade. Fireman Bradley intimate dthat lie intended, to resign. ■ The Levin I'ire Brigade advised that, owing to unforseen circumstances, it had been foun dnecessary to cancel tho forthcoming competition on February 22. The.Huit Borough Counil wrote, stating that the -request to provide sis five years' service medals to members of the brigade had been granted. In reference to' th'e'question of forwarding any amendments to the United Firo.'Brigades' Association' Accident Society, it was decided to bold'the matter' over till the 1912 conference, and then to circularise the various brigades throughout the Dominion to the effect that, "whilst firemen are engaged in practising for competitions or actually taking part in competitions, they shall, be'irsured against accident." Foreman Doran was elected delegate to represent the Hutt Brigade at the Hokitika United C'orfcrence on March 3 and t. The officers reported that one call had teen received during the month. Last night, at St. James's rni-ish Fall, Lower Hutt, a concert was held in aid of the local Methodist Church Trust Fund. Thero was a .good attendance, an- dthe items wero well favoured, those contributing being. Mis.-es Randall, Archer, Bennett, Corrick, Boutell, Mesdamss Eddie, M'lntosh' Messrs. Orr and. Tun-, ley.; Preceding the musical portion' of the programme was a comedietta in which the parts •■ were sustained by Mr. Jas. Culford Bell, Miss Corrick,.-. .and Mr. .Mason. It was well received.. With a, view to supplementing ',their, .contest fund ,the Petone Municipal Band :last evening rendered a programme of music at Hutt. - . .
