The Now Zealand Rubber Company, which comraeurcd operations somo three months ago in Hastings, is already turning out some excellent work in tho shape of belting, vehicle and perambulator' tires, motor car tire covers, tiled floorings of any design or colour, stairtreads. boot soles and heels, and cups for milking machines Specimens of tho tiled foorings have been forwarded to tho Government Vostal Department for examination purposes, with the idea that the material may bo utilised ultimately for the Wellington and Auckland Poet Offices. At the uresont time the company's manufacturing possibilities havo been handicapped somewhat through' a special form of material not coming to hand, but this trouble will be surmounted in'tho course of a few weeks, and then, to use the words of the managing director (Mr. Land), "We shall bo able to turn out in any' quantity an thins; which can be mnda in the way of ruober." . The firm will exhibit at the Wellington Industrial Exhibition of New Zealand-manufactured goods, which is fra he held, in May, June, and July of the present year.
