A CHILLY VISITOR.
SUDDEN CHANGE IN THE ■WEATHER. ■ All yesterday forenoon the dull grey ■iad o'ercast the sty. and an oppressive "mugginess" prevailed, betokening aiv approaching change in the weather. Bain 'began to fall early in .'the morning, developing,'as the 'day! wore on; into a tropical downpour.-. Valiant torrents coursed along the gutters,' and a block in the surface water drain near the government Buildings caused the flood water to' spread over the quay like a miniature lake. Shortly after noon the wind veered round to the ssutb, and a chill crept into the air. By night the rain had oleared eomewhat, bat a strong southerly, smelling of brine, was blowing. The Government Meteorologist (the .Rev. D. C. Bates) predicts further rain and unsettled weather. '
