MUNICIPAL ABATTOIRS.

A YEAR'S-RETURN. Tho following, figures show the work done at tho Municipal Abattoirs at Ngahauranga during the twelvo months ended November 30 last:— Stock slaughtered—374- cows, 2959 bullocks and heifers, 21,010 sheep, 6418 lambs, 105 pigs, and 334 calves. Cattln condemned—42 cows, 84 bullocks and heifers, 241 sheep, 2 lambs, 4 pigs, and C calves.

Tho fees for stock slaughtered amounted to' c £932 3s. 2d. Tho fees received from meat export slaughterhouses • amounted to £2573 7s. 3d., and the commission received from the sale of offal, etc., realised ,£BB 18s., making tho total receipts for tho year .£3591 Bs. sd. Tho December return is as follows:— Number of stock slaughtered—s4 cows, 4''bulls, '421 bullocks ami lieifera, 3471 sheep, 1991 lambs, 17 pigs, and 63 calves. Number condemned—l 3 ■ bullocks and heifers, 1 bull, 13 1 lamb. - Fees received 'amounted to .£l-131 7s. 2d.< (an increase of 17s. on tho previous month's fees): fees received from meat export slaughterhouses for meat sold within the city' amounted to X 139 Bs. 11(1. (an increase. on the previous month of £7 Ss.). The sum received from the sale of offal and runners was .£l3l Bs. 4d. (all increase, of <£8 10s. 3d. on the previous month). Tho total receipts for the month amounted to ,£414 4s. sd. (an increase of S24' 2s. I'd. for . December). The decreases': in stock slaughtered in December compared with the previous month" were:—22 cattlo and 800 sheep. There was an increase of 817 lambs, 17 pigs, 4 calves.- The stock slaughtered was' of exceptionally prime quality. I'j lo increase of stock sl&ujjhtsrod last month as against December 1909 was 332 cattle, 2221 sheep, 874 lambs, 11 pigs, and 22 calves. The fees on stock slaughtered increased by <£86 15s. ~2d. The decrease in fees received from meat export slaughterhouses for the above months amounted to ,£lO7 7s. 5d., while an-in-crease of .£77 15s. 11(1. was shown m the sale of offal and. runners.
