The depositions of dock and shipping officials in Adelaide wero read, showing that the Waratali was seaworthy, . anr that her cargo had been properly stowed. M'Diarmid, the pilot, in his depositions, Said he regarded "the Waratah as a tender ship, but not to the extent of being unseaworthy. She had more top-hamper than usual for her trim. , The depositions of Durban witnesses Showed that the vessel, was upright when she left that port.. There was nothing to indicate that she was top heavy. A.precis of the report of tho steamer Sabine's search was read. . The inquiry was adjourned to January 30.
