FOR STRENUOUS SERVICES. It is stated, on excellent authority, that Cabinet has sanctioEfid the payment of inoo in connection with the extra work involved in the correspondence between the Defence Department and the applicants for appointment, to positions under the new defence scheme. This sum, it is understood, will be issued to Captain R. J. -S. Seddon, Staff Officer, to the Adjutant and Quartermaster-General of the Forces, for distribution among those members of the clerical staff who participated in the extra work referred to.
