It has learnt that the additional arrivals were engaged because tho mineowners required men of exceptional engineering and mechanical skill. . ' The Department gives little credence to rumours to tho effect that the new arrivals have been sent for tho purpose of watching Australian affairs and for the reporting to the Japanese Government.
