MAN BEFORE THE COURT.

(By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.!.Palmerston, January 13. , A 'rather interesting caso arising ouS of an assault at' Linton came up for .hearing at the Palmerston Police Court to-day, before Messrs. L. Simmons, and R. Edwards, J.P.'s, when Charles Henry O'Loughlin was charged with having, on January 10, in his possession seven counterfeit coins, with intent, to utter them; also, ott;,tlffi'(s4me date, having in his possession, without lawful cxcuse, a mould intended to ca-s.t ,half-prowns. In the course of the case seven counterfeit" lialfjcrowns and' several plaster of paris moulds were produced.' A l ' flaxmill hand, against whom'accused had i brought a charge of assault, placed the coins and. moulds, in tho .hands of the police, asserting that they d> ; posited in his care by O'Loughlin. Aocused, who hails from Linton, states that lie received the moulds and coins from an Italian. The'case was "adjourned till Monday, to enable the S.M. to hear it.
