Dr. Findlay; who is at present in Christchurch, is ' going to Dunedin, where he will deliver.. two addresses next week, returning to Christchurch on January 21—Press Association.

M'Kenzie arrived at Christchurch from Wellington yesterday morning and went on to Cass to inspect the Midland railway works. • He will return to Christchurch . to-day,. and on Monday will go to Lake Coleridge to inspect tho site of the proposed electrical works.—Press Associaton. Tho Under-Sccretary for Lands (Mr. W. C. Kensington) left last evening for -the south. He is to inspect tho Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill offices, and tho Tapanui State nurseries. : Mr. F. Waldegrave, Commissioner of Police, is at present on a visit to the south, and will ho absent for about two lyeeks. Mr. Hallcy, Conciliation Commissioner, who has been on a visit to Napier, 'lias returned to Wellington. Arrangements have been made by the Trades Council for.a public address .by Mr. John Hodge, Labour M.P. Sotf the Gorton division of Lancashire, on his return to Wellington from the north. Mr. Hodgo will arrivo back here-about Wednesday next, 'aud tho address will be given on January 22. The visitor will go on to Christchurch from Wei-' lington and will deliver an address-at Christchurch . about January. 25, under tho auspices of the Trades- Council. He is to go on to Dunedin and Invercargill. where tho . respective Trades .Councils havo made arrangements for his entertainment and for addresses on tlie Homo labour movement. The last meeting of tho Wellington General Labourers' Union passed a motion of Condolence with Mr. F. O'Keefe, tho president, in the untimely death- of his wife. No other business was taken, the meeting being adjourned as a mark of respect. Mr. Harry P. Muller, manager of the Municipal Theatre at Palmerston North, is at present paying a' brief visit to Wellington.
