Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—Our opening sale at Eketahuna after the holidays was held ths week, when a full yarding of cattle and a good entry of sheep was submitted by the associated auctioneers. Business at auction was animated, practically the whole of the yarding changing hands at satisfactory price 3. A good lino of two to two and a half-year steers from Rimunui Station, Upper Waitotara, sold particularly well. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency-Company, Limited, report for the week ending January 14 as follows:—At Kangiwahia on Tuesday we had a good entry of sheep. These, however, met with a dragging sale, and owners had to. reduce their reserves to allow business to be done. We quote:—Cull lambs, 2g. 3d., 2s. 6d., to 3s. 9d.;- cull ewes, ss. 6d. to ss. Bd.; others, to 7s. 9d.; shorn lambs, 7s. 6d.; twotooth ewes, 13s. 6d.
