AN APPEAL.
THE FIRE AT THE t.W.C.A. . Sir,—The brave demeanour,with which the Wellington branch of the Y.W.C.A. has met'its recent loss, by tiro of their whole possessions has called forth much sympathy from those who aro directly' or indirectly interested in this particular branch of woman's work. Many gifts have found their, way to the'rooms at St.' John's Presbyterian Church, which now affords hospitable shelter and. .means to carry on to some extent "thedaily routiner Perhaps few realiso what such a loss means to. our workers. Many had given their best in. time, money, and talent, not grudgingly; but cheerfully, for the benefit of the young women of this city,', and, during the past, four years have striven to establish some place suitable for their use and comfort. The association's brave endeavour and its zeal and; ambition for a larger opportunity of. doing good should stir tho heart of Wellington; to benevolenco on behalf of the lonely girls and women, to provide the nnich-ncedcd hostel, and so give tho association a wider scope.— I am, etc., AN ONLOOKER,
