DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORTS.
BIG INCREASE OF BUTTER. TliO' complete returns for .'December show thatJ-the'ro n ; as an increased shipment of buttetftot'tho United Kingdom in that -.'month, -which is' usually tho big month of-tho' dairy produce export year. Cheese does not snow a comparative increase. _ Tho quantity, of butter shipped in December alone was .183,677 boxes after 105,759 boxes' had been shipped in November. In the , previous December, 163,860. boxes were the quantity, and m the, December 1908 146,680 boxes.".' Altogether this tseason--372,035.b0xes of butter have' been exported; which is a good deal more than was tho case in the. similar period of .'the. twe previous years.
The four-month figures' concerning the last three years are' as follow. The quantities for 1910 aro placed first, 1909 nest,- and ■ '1908 last:—September, 22,635 boxes, 10.186, and 6228; October, 16,014, 57,221; ,37,624; November, 100,759, '99,951, ancF7s;623;' and December, 183,667, 163,860, and 146,680.
. In ■the season .1909-10, 642,955. boxes were exported and in-the previous season 528,879 boxes.
So far,the cheeso exports have not been., as heavy .as : they •.-were last year, .as-,.th0"..,-/followirig .figures (from the "Trade Review") for, tho four months of the three seasons- show:—September, 41 cases, : 974, —; October, 9159, 13,739, ■5079 ■27,749,"33,0i9, 23,075: December, 60,716, 68,867, and 60,723. ■
_Tho cheese, export this season totals 97,665 oases. Iu the whole of tho previous season: 353,211 cases, were exported and iii the 1903-9 season 271,583 cases.
