COMPETITIVE DESIGNS SOUGHT.
Many anxious inquiries were made during the. session as to when the Government intended nrocedding with the erection of the new Parliament Building;, and more or less satisfactory replies were given- at various times, by. the -Minister for Publio Works. ' The' matter of tho dcsi»n of the new building was discussed at yesterday's meeting of Cabinet, and it was-eventually decided to invite competitive designs for the now buildings from ' New Zealand architects. -The rewards should, be sufficient'to tempt tne best skill in tho Dominion, prizes being offered as under:—First, -.£1000; second, ST third, .£300; and fourth, .£2OO.
