At the resumed inquest as to the'causo of death of Ethel Harris, whose body was found a fortnight ago after a long search, and with whose murder William Smart, with whom she lived up to within a short time of his . marriage with another woman,- is charged, several witnesses identified the clothes and jewellery found on the body as having belonged to the dead girl. Thero was a scene whilo accused, Smart, was cross-examining Harris's father. The latter called Smart a "black wretch" and a "villain." A constable prevented him leaving the witness-box to execute his threat to"smash" Smart.
