The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's Summer meeting was concluded to-day. ■ During the early morning, the weather'was dull, light rain falling in intermittent showers. The weather cleared before noon, and the remainder of the.day was calm and cool: The attendance was again very large. Eight bookmakers paid a fee of £20 10s. each for the-right to. ply their, calling. Tho tbtalisator investments amounted to £7503, as against £6881 for the corresponding'day last year, making a'total for the two days of £15,614, an increase of £2213 on the last Summer meeting.
