LORD CURZON'S SUGGESTION.
On the : matter of women's professions Lord Curzon ■ has been making an interesting suggestion. Was it 'riot tho. duty, ho inquired, "of every friend and sympathiser with this women's movement, as far as possible, now while there was still time,.'to sketch out a plan, of action for the future, .'.and'to select-those spheres of occupation and activity which were likely to bo;suitable; to ■ women, and in which they would 1 ..n0t find themselves in unseemly, .unprofitable, 1 or uneconomical competition',..either with, men or with each other?" . Everyone knows, that the choice of professions ojjen to women is still uncomfortably limited. ;■' Lord Curzon's sntrgestions will be.'read with interest. He saw opportunities for women as journalists, librarians, and organists; in literature, in-the artistic decoration of houses, and tho designing of gardens. Furthermore, lie remarked that the cplopies could find employment for many as managers of households and secretaries; while in Tndia, as tho native women freed themselves from old traditions, they, would want English ladies "to preside over their, households and teach their children." '
"Your daughter, madam;"lias a rapidly growing mentality." "Mofcy on us, doctor! Will she have to go to a hospital and havo .it cut out?" . Baldness used to bo a misfortune. Now it is bad .form. No man heed bo bald, unless he wants to, or is too careless to grow hair. The day of tho silly quack, "hair-restorers" is oyer. ■ John Strango Winter's Hair Food has doomed fhom.'lt, differs from the others, because it makes hair grow. Mildred: "They were married in Baste, I understand?" Eleanor: "Yes. Thoy had engaged a taxicab by tho hour, so they requested the minister to hurry." For Up-to-date Costumes, seasonable and well cut, go to W. S. Bedford, 43a Willis Street, over Shop occupied by X\ Cohen, Mercer.—*
