THREE AVIATORS KILLED.
TREACHEROUS WINDS. FATALITIES WITNESSED BY GREAT CROWDS. AEROPLANES OVERTURNED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Cops right. (Rec. January 2, 1.8 a.m.) New York, January i. Two mil-known aviators, Messrs. Hoxsey and Moissant, who were making flights near Now Orleans, havo been killed by Ijoing caught in treacherous air-cur-rents.
Mr. Hoxsey's machine, which was laden with an extra petrol tank, overturned, and the motor smashed his ribs. Two aviators who witnessed tho accident collapsed weeping, and an cnormous croiwl was silenced for five minutes by the suddenness of the accident. An inquest was held two hours later and a verdict of accidental death was re-, turned-;-Mr. Moissant, who was also flying near Now Orleans, • fell- out on. his machine boing overturned and broke his neck.. Both accidents -were caused by trea?herous wind gusts. A FATAL FALL'. ' DYING MAJJ DECORATED; (Rec. January' 1, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, December 31. Lieutenant Decaumont, while monoplaning, at Versailles, dropped easily down with his machine for a. distance of 600 feet. He then attempted to avoid an obstaclo, and his machine overturned and fell 60 feet to tho ground. The aviator had several bones broken, and succumbed. President Fallieres was present, and conferred the Order of tho Legion of Honour on the unfortunate man before he died.

Hoxsey reached an altitude of 10,575 feet in his aeroplane.
