A reliability ruu to Dunedin. ana bttcic, held under the auspices of the North Can-terbury-Motor Cycle Club, finished tonight.- • Twenty-three riders started from Christchurch ,on Monday,- ..and . made Oaraaru, continuing the journey to Dunedin next, day, all the riders arriving. The return trip was made, in one day. 'Owing to various causes three or four riders withdrew at D.unedin. At Palmerston South Mallard nulled out, and late in the afternoon word was received in the city that tyro troubles ,neov Rangitata had caused Denby -to retire. Tlio first men to nrrivq wero C. Broad, F. Howarth, and W. H. Stone, of "Wellington, who achieved , the remarkably good run of' 12 hours. They reported thcit the roads were very loose.] and not favourable to low power machines. At 6.29-p.m. a second'detachment, cpsiprising F. Baker, L. B. .Young; and P. Adams arrived, Bake? and Adams having an' absolutely non-stop run. - ; Other riders arrived at: intervals after-' wards, but until the cards nro considered bv the iudge no award will be made. The club intends to hold an inquiry into, tho arrangempnts made at Oamaru on the outward journey.. It is stated that the machines wero locked un in the_ garase, but that one of the ricfers retained tho key.
