BANDSMEN'S PICNIC. ' ■ . ■■■ Napier, December 27. A t-ery large number of peoplo attended the Napier City Band's animal picnic and sports, held at Farndou Park to-day.. Tho weather was perfect, and. the , oiit.ing was on undoubted success. A lengthy, sports programme excited much interest, and among tho other attractions -were launch trips on the river. The band rendered variousseleetions, ; and altogether it was a most successful sports picnic, more, so than in any previous year. A noticeablo feature was the number of country visitors. CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS. Christchiirch, December 26. . The cycling championship meeting was held at Lancaster Park to-day. There was a large crowd present.
