THE HOLIDAY SPOUTS. (From Our Special Correspondent.) Masterton, December 27. ■ , The iv«atliGr for the holidays was fine in this district, and residents epent the ; time in picnics, sports, camping, .and alpine climbing. The nnmial sports of the Wairarapa. Amateur Club were held, at Masterton Park to-day. Thera were record entries, and a capital attendance, and the events-were well contested. The satisfactory sum of i£6s was taken" at tho Bates. The performance of L. Baxter, of Wellington, in tho two-mile run,, was a very good one, and he received a great ovation.
