' Throughout tho long summer's day yesterday the Wellington Bowling Club's greens were fully occupied by a trierry crowd of bowlers, who. disported'themselves on the green in high holiday humour, and even partook of luncheon on tho green in. order that the harmony of' trio day would not be submitted to interruption. The tournament was arranged on a plan which is gaining favonr on many greens. Skips and leads are picked, .bracketed together, and matches are made up. Thereafter winning skips move one way, and winning leads the other, and losinq skips and leads remain where they are, but change partners with the newcomers. Seven three-quarter-of-an-hour games were played in all yesterday, piny lasting from 10 a.m. until 5.45 p.m., when ■T. Ballinger, with six wins and a loss, was found to be the winning skip, and Mr. Watson, with five wins and two losses, was the winning lead. Tho field day was thoroughly enjnyod by nil. Mr. Brunskill.(secretary) managed the tournament with his customary skill and urbanity. [ KELBURNE CLUB. The second day's tournament of the Kelburno Bowling Club played yesterday on tho home green, resulted in M'Arthur winning in the contest for skips and Manley in that for leads.
