A Wellington Wodding. A pretty wedding was celebrated in. St. Peter's Church yesterday, when Miss Ethel At'lvellar,, second daughter of Mr. Dugald H'Kellar (formerly Collector of Customs, Wellington),, was married to. Mr. Victor Law, of the staff of tho NewZealand Insurance Company, Wellington. The Right Rev. the Bishop of Wellington, assisted by the.Ven. Archdeacon Harper, performed the ceremony. The brido woro a crcam silk frock and tho customary veil and orange blossoms. Miss M'Kellar, sister of the bride, and Mjss. I. Haybittlo,, attended her as bridesmaids, wearing white 6ilk frocks and white, hats lined with pink and trimmed with pink flowers. •Mr. Law carried out tho duties of best man, and , Mr. Roy Callcndar' acted as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was hold at. the resident of the bndo's parents at ICelburne. Wedding at Petone. On Tuesday, at .St. Augustine's Church, Petone, the marriage took place of Miss W. Maynard to Mr. W. G. Castle, junior, of the -Wellington Boys' College staff. Tho bride wore a dress of ivory crepe de chine over ivory silk, with veil and orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet. - Sho was attended by tho Misses Leta and Lilio Maynard. (her and Miss Constance Caßtle (sister of the bridegroom) as bridesmaids, wearing white Swiss muslin frocks, trinmied with insertion and white hats. They also carried bouquets of pink sweet peas. Mr. I'\ W. Gamble was best man, and Messrs. J. H. Baxter and A- Castle groomsmen. A reception was afterwards hold at the home of the bride's parents, Hutt Boad. The committee of the Levin Memorial Home desiro to thank the following for their Christmas gifts for tho children Mesdames Jacob Joseph, Hunter, Ferguson, Young, Hume, Christie, W. Young, and W. R. Smith,. Misses ' Stevenson,, Archibald, Harding, Rev. Shirer,' Messrs? L. Stowe, Luxford, Pctherick. Mr. and Mrs. J. llott, who have been spending a holiday in the Nelson district, returned to Wellington by tho Takapuna yesterday. - «
Miss Edith Dunsford, of Christchurch; has been appointed matron of tho Westport Hospital, out of five applicants.
Miss Marchant, Principal of the Dunedin High School, is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Marchant.

' Mrs. Bntts intends leaving for Waverlcy at New Year, where she will spend some little time. Miss Butts left for a trip to the Sounds on Tuesday, and Miss C. 'Butts leaves for Pirinoa shortly, .after New Year.
A cabin message has been received-from London to the effect that the Rev. W. S. Lucas, of Nelson, who went Home some time ago to undergo a serious operation, is making an excellent recovery.
. Mrs. MacPhail (of Victoria College) has gone'to Port Chalmers to spend part of the University .vacation.
