Williamson Now Comic Opera Company on Monday next for the first six nights of tlio season, were opened nt tlio Dresden yesterday, when splendid advance booking was indulged in. Of "The Dollar Princess" it would appear that Australian critics have exhausted their vocabularies of. praise. Refined, delightful, dignified, and magnificent arc amongst some of .the many laudatory opinions of this charming play. Tlio refinement and musical charm of the work, it is said, gain in effect, as the taste for it grows. The artistic palate, jaded by the variety order of the usual musical comedy entertainment, welcomes with delight such delectable faro as .that promised in 'The Dollar Princess." A special feature of the presentation is said to bo the excellence of the orchestra. The intricacies of Dr. Leo. Falls's music necessitates a preponderance of. exceptional players. Among tho passengers to arrive.from Sydney by the Moerpki yesterday.were the members of Williamson's New Dramatic Company, headed by Miss Katherine Grey and Mr. William Desmond. This company, which commences its tour in Christcburch, will play a repertoire of modern American drama, including "Tho Lion and tho Mouse," "Tho Trutli,". "Tho Third Degree,," and "Paid in Full," all strongly dramatic plays of a very intense order. The company includes Mr. J. B. Athohvood, Mr. Cyril Maokay, Mr. Winter Hall, Mr. George Chalmers, Mr. T. W. Lloyd, Miss Alma Vaushan, Miss liat-ie Towers, and other well-known players. It has recently concluded a successful season in Sydney..

Mr. Lawrence Campbell, who. is a member of the National Association of Elocutionists, New York, was born at Dover, Kent, England, being tho eldest. son of Captain Edward Marsh, of. that town. H.c was a successful student of the Polytechnic School, Regent Street, London, and just prior to the termination of his connection with this institution made a brilliant first appearancc as an elocutionist at the Steinway Hall under the professional namo of Lawrence Campbell. Mr. Campbell will bq assisted by the famous Russian operatic singer, M. Eugene Ossipoff. Tho box plan is.now open at tho Dresden. ANTONIA DOLORES. . Mademoiselle Antonia Dolores, possibly tho most pleasing singer that has ever toured Australasia—certainly no one has ever toured so frequently with undiminished popularity—has just concluded a six months' season in Australia. She was received most enthusiastically everywhere, and at present is sinking splendidly; in fact, many good judges consider that she is .now at her zenith, and is a greater artist than at any previous point of her career. Mr. J. T.Muir arrived from Sydney yesterday by tho Mooraki to make arrangemcnts'for her Now Zealand tour. Mademoiselle Dolores will rest one month in Sydney, and her'tour of the Dominion will commence early in February at luvorcargill. On this occasion tho West Const of the Soutli Island, ivhcro Mademoiselle Dolores has not previously sung, will be included. AYollington will ha visited about the middle of March. FIREWORKS AT DAY'S BAY. The display of fireworks which is to ho given at Day's Bay on Monday evening next, will (so _tho management claim) eclipse anything ever given in that lino in Wellington. Sir.
