Coiift of Criminal Appeal a coriviction was quashed, but the Law Lords, on appeal, reversed the decision. Tho •question has now been raised whether a released person can be rearrested. The Court of Criminal Appeal decided in tho affirmative, but- will allow the prisoner a fresh appeal, th e original sentence to stand if the appeal fails. The Court of Criminal Appeal was established under, the Act passeil in 1907. It consists of tho Lord Chief Justice of Eur land and Judges of tho King's Bench Divisiori. Tho Court lias power to hear appeals against convictions and sentences. It will not, however, re-try a case, nor will upset tho verdict of, n jury unless it js manifestly unreasonable. . With the consent o£ the Attorney-General , ari appeal ir.ay bo made from this Court to the House oi Lords.
