George Paish, joint editor of the "Statist," the well-known financial and commercial ■ journal, in a paper read before the Royal Statistical Society, declared that the amount of British capital invested at the "end of 1907 in India, , the colonies, and foreign' countries, was £2,693,738,000.' From' this there was an annual yield of £139,791,000.'
During the last three years, a further £515,000,000 had been, invested abroad.
