TO-DAY'S DINNER.
(Specially written for Tiie Dominion.) TUESDAY. Stewed Ox-tail and Kidneys. Potatoes. Cabbage. Banana Custard. BANANA CUSTARD. • Cut some bananas in thin slices; put thorn in a glass dish, pour over them a good, custard hot. Leave until cold and put a little raspberry jam here and there on the custard. Wltip tho whites of eggs, sweeten and flavour them, add 2 tablespoonfuls of whipped cream to them, pile on the custard, decorate with red currant or apple jelly cut iu strips.
'FOR TO-MORROW. Seven or Slbs. brisket of beef. Turnips. Carrots. Suet, Lemon. SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. A'Wedding. A very pretty wedding was celebrated on Saturday afternoon at St. Peter's Church, when Miss Edith ' Taylor was married to Mr. Arnold Williams. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Archdeacon Harper. The bride wore a very simple frock of white satin . charmeuse, with an overdress of white chiffon,. and .the customary veil and.orange blossoms. /She carried a very beautiful bouquet. Miss M'Gregor attended her as bridesmaid, wearing a muslin frock and hat trimmed with nasturtiums, with bouquet to match. Mr. Bethuno acted as best man. Tliero were two pagesMasters Joe and Jack Kirkcaldie. The bridesmaid's present was a gold bangle. A reception was held at the home of Mrs. J. Kirkcaldie, Thompson Street. „ Mrs. Taylor, the bride's mother, wore a handsome black dress, with a bouquet of crim-' son sweet peas. Sirs. Williams, tho bridegroom's mother, was in a heliotrope cloth dress, with hat to match. Mrs. Kirltcaldio 'wore a white muslin frock, with a black hat. Among those present were Mrs. 'Neil Jl'Lean, the Misses Williams, Miss Hall, Miss J. Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Parker, Mr. and Mr. l -. Kennedy Macdonald, Mr. and Mrs. Rattray, Mr. and Mrs. K. Kirkcaldie, Mr. and Mrs. E. Blundell, Miss Loekie, Miss Parsons, and Mr. Stanley Brown. Mrs. Williams's going-away frock was of tussore silk, with a tussore. hat to match, trimmed with wheat.
A Garden Party. A very enjoyable garden party was given by the Misses Jackson at "Stonestead," on Saturday last. . Croquet, quoits, and an interesting competition amused the numerous' guests and helped to pass a pleasant afternoon. Tea was served under the trees in a' shady corner of the tennis court., Miss Jackson was wearing a black silk dress, and black bat with feathers;; Miss- S. • Jackson, floral muslin; Miss A. Jackson, brown sill; dress; and Miss L. Jackson, white embroidered muslin.

•An Afternoon. Teo v . | Mrs. David.lv. Blair gave.a delightful little tea at- her;'.-charming residence, ICaraka Bay, on Saturday-'.afternoon for Miss Le Sueur,' "Wlio'Ts" to Tie" married shortly. The tea table, in the pretty din-ing-room,- was most artistically arranged with all tho flowers in season. A very enjoyable afternoon was spent, Miss 1a Sueur being the recipient of many pretty and useful presents. Mrs. Blair wore a black taffeta and Chantilly lace frock, and Miss Le Sueur a pretty blue poplin costume and black' hat. Among those present were Mrs. A. A. Le Sueur, Mrs. A. A. Rov. Mother Aubert's Jubilee. Tho final meeting of . Mother' Mary Aubert's Golden Jubilee Committee was held at Mrs. T. G. Maearthy's residenco last evening, when a statement was sub.mitted showing the net proceeds of the Jubilee Fund to date to be,.,£2500. There are still some returns to como in, including the sale of tickets,in 1 connection with tho watch-calculating competition. The result will be announced in the papers.
Obituary. ■The death took place on Saturday of -Mrs. M'Kerrow, tho wife of ]\[r. James MlCerroiv, ex'Surveyor-General and chairm'an of tho Land Purchase Board. Tlie deceased lady, who was over eighty years of age, and had been an invalid for many years, came out to New Zealand in thoi very early days. She -leaves a son, ~Mr:"Ar C. M'Kerrow—on" the" staff "of "the" Bank of New. South Wales—and two daughters, Mrs. J. D. llitcbie, wife of tho present chairman of the Land Purchase Board, and Mrs. Caldwell, wife of Mr. D. R. Caldwell, of Cambridge, Waikato.
Mrs. W. Jamos (Masterton) is spending a few days with her sister in Wellington. - Sirs. L. St. George and her sons (Otaki) aro visiting Mrs. St. George (Masterton). Mr. and Mrs. B. Francis, Masterton, intend spending some, time at Knraka Bay.- '.
Mr. and : Mrs. S. Noble-Campbell (Masterton) are spending a few Weeks at Plinimerton.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Humo (Lansdowne) have returned to Masterton, after some weeks spent on the coast.
Mr. and Mrs. George Sellar, with their small daughter, are leaving Masterton today for Ivaraka Bay, whero they will spend some time. , . . ' -
Miss Daisy O'Reilly, of Hastings, left for the south last evening to spenu Christmas at Christchurch.

Miss Xo Sueur's wedding to Mr. Eric E. Johnston takes place at St. Peter's on December 29.
