— ? —— . , The. ordinary meeting of the Lower Huft Borough Council was held last evening. There were present: ThejMdyor. (Mr. E. P. Bunny), and Councillors Baldwin, Macaskill,- Barlow,. : Fearce, and Hawthorn. ■ • , • The annual-subsidy of i£li> was voted to the Petone Technical School. Councillors Baldwin .and Hayes were' appointed tho council's representatives on that body. Mr. G. Lambert .asked, if the council would be" prepared to sell a triangular piece of land in Princess Street, • Alicetown, adjoining his property,' which heretofore had been used for a dumpingground, and was consequently detrimental to health.—Held over, pejiding further investigation. ...

; '-Mr. V. Eiddiford nvas granted permission to instal a septic tank to deal with his sewage, provided that there was sufficient fall on-the respective drains. He thought;that it was time that a better service was introduced. .
