The Prime Minister, Sir' Wilfrid Laurier, in ' replying to a. deputation of Western Canadian farmers, declared that he was prepared for the domination of a more radical and progressive West in Canadian politics.. ■ He was hoppful that reciprocity with tho United States would he secured, but he did' not think the revision of the Canadian tariff could be hurried. British preference was an integral part of tho Government's policy. The construction of the Hudson Bay. railway", said Sir Wilfrid Laurier, would be hastened, and the line would probably be Government ownership.
