PROGRESS IN NEW. SOUTH WALES. By Telezraph—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, December 15. The, Registrar of Friendly Societies, in a report tabled in the Stato Assembly, shows that there has been remarkable progress in the last ten rents. The number of members has increased, from 78,000 to 133,000, and the aggregate funds from <£059,761 to ,£1,335,379. Last y ear the.membership increased, by 9832, or 8 per centum. ' Allowing for defunct and ciorihu:,d lodges, thero were ninety-nino new branches. Sick pay amounted lo the highest on record, owing lo ikne liberal provisions in cases of .-hroiie sick, t.css. The management expenses amount fa 11.7 per cent, of tho receipts, which the Registrar considers unduly high.
